Leaving Curitiba you will take the
highway named “BR 277“ to Paranaguá. You will pass
through a modern, conserved and well signaled highway
with double runway. In the neighborhood of the place
named Alexandra, after the rank of the Federal Road
Police, you can take the first exit to the right, in “PR
508”, known as “Alexandra-Matinhos” highway. Double
runway also, but without safety lane, having only some
areas of shelter, on all the road you will count on
excellent support of “ECOVIA” highway patrol,
responsible for the maintenance of the road.
In the exit of Curitiba you have to stop in the only
rank of toll of this road until the coast.
The trip is about 110 kilometers.
Another option, also by “BR 277”, is: after the place
named Alexandra, 3 or 4 kilometers ahead of the entrance
of “PR 508”, take the exit to the right, by “PR 407”,
more known as “Old road to Praia de Leste”. Conserved as
well, however in simple runway, it will arrive in Pontal
do Paraná. You will get to an intersection where there
is an access to Pontal do Sul and Ilha do Mel, but you
have to follow to the right, now in “PR 412” for more or
less 12 kilometers until you arrive in Matinhos. All the
distance is about 121 kilometers.
By the highway named “BR 376” it is also possible to
arrive in our city. This is the highway that binds
Curitiba to the state of Santa Catarina and to its
capital, Florianópolis. In the intersection of Garuva
you must turn to the left in “PR 412”, simple runway
that is all recovered, and go trough it for 38
kilometers until the city of Guaratuba. There you will
have to take the raft (ferry boat), crossing the bay to
arrive in Matinhos. The distance is about 126 kilometers.
